At Your Wit’s Ends Over Your Move? Take this 30-second sanity check.

Look at this list and ask yourself if these services could make your next move less stressful.

Moving Out

  • Finding the moving company that best fits your specific moving needs (such as long distances, very large homes, upper-floor apartments, special items such as antiques, computers, or live plants, and so forth).
  • Obtaining multiple bids from moving companies and reviewing your contracts before you sign.
  • Providing you with any packing supplies that you need, such as loaner boxes, tape, cord, and padding.
  • Locating storage facilities for you and arranging for storage.
  • Assisting with all change of address procedures.
  • Providing information on schools for your children at the new location.
  • Arranging telephone, utility, and cable disconnects.
  • Locating kennels for your pets during the move.
  • Arranging Goodwill or Salvation Army pick-up for your unwanted items.
  • Providing complete, onsite management of movers on moving day.

Moving On

  • Arranging temporary accommodations for you during the move if needed.
  • Scheduling thorough maid service to prepare your former home to be sold.
  • Additional organizing assistance that you might need during the move.

Moving In

  • Managing local move-ins.
  • Checking for damaged or lost items.
  • Following up with moving companies and insurance if you have to make any claims.
  • Unpacking some or all of your items.
  • Arranging for your new connections for telephone, utilities, cable, and so forth.
  • Assuring that all your electronics and computers are properly reconnected.
  • Arranging for dependable pool services.
  • Arranging for one-time or regular maid service after the move.
  • Arranging for any remodeling you might need at your new home.
